Lost

It was a chilly fall night. The fire was blazing in the hearth. Cole LaBrant was in bed trying to fall asleep but something was bothering him. Maybe something his 8-year-old sister said today or something. Everleigh LaBrant was asleep on the top bunk. She had fallen asleep about 2 hours ago. Suddenly, Cole heard voices. At first, he just thought it was Everleigh mumbling in her sleep. Then he heard them again. Whoever it was, it didn’t sound like Everleigh. "What should we do with them?" asked a voice he didn't recognize. " I reckon we should dump'em in the mountains." said another unfamiliar voice. Suddenly, he realized what was going on. They're going to kidnap us! he thought in his brain. Slowly, listening, he got out of bed and climbed the ladder to the top bunk. " Everleigh. Wake up and be quiet. Now. Hurry up and put some warmer clothes on." Cole whispered." Ok. I am ready," whispered Everleigh 2 minutes later. " Ok, quietly get back in bed and pretend to be asleep but stay awake, ok?" said Cole. "Ok," Everleigh said. (Jayden Chaplin, Age 8 to 12, 23.03.2021 11:57:15) (edit) )
