What would be a simple yet brilliant and unusual experiment to do for a
science fair? I am lost for ideas?
Well, you're not lost for ideas anymore, Jane. I don't know exactly what you
have in mind (or would like to learn about) but I do have three great links
for you with plenty of good experiments to choose from. Here’s a good site with
experiments on different topics like what makes some mixtures become more solid
or more liquid when you mix them, what is air pressure (including a cool balloon
rocket experiment), why planes fly, what makes things slippery or sticky, and
what makes things float or sink. http://www.fatlion.com/science/
---- Also, I live in the San Francisco bay area and we have a very fun science
place here called The Exploratorium. Here’s a link to a page the Exploratorium
put together with a lot of fun experiments you can do at home or in your classroom.
(They call them “snacks†because the directions are easy to follow and you can
make them yourself.) http://www.exploratorium.edu/snacks/Hands-On_Science/index.html
----- Still can’t find one you want to do? Okay here’s a link to a page that
will get you to more experiments you could do in years and years! All of them
are hands on experiments for kids, though there are separate sections for easier
ones and harder ones. http://www.halcyon.com/sciclub/kidlink1.html
. I bet you find one that is both brilliant and unusual. Good luck Jane. by Jeff | Mon Jun 10 17:28:45 PST 2002 | Back to Top
WhyizZat is a fun site to learn about science and ask science questions. My
name is Jeff, and I have been interested in science since I was in about the
4th grade. I like all kinds of science subjects, including how our bodies work,
what makes up the world around us, what the stars and planets are like. I'm
not a scientist myself, but I've learned a lot about science and what I don't
know I can usually find out.
