The Long Wait (0) I stood, slowly taking in everything around me. The red postbox, the group of old ladies walking down the path, the band of teen vandals swearing and drinking in the shadows... And then... I saw him !! He was standing right accross the street from me, leaning over the bus timetable; I knew it off by heart, after all I had travelled on various buses throughout my childhood. He was tall and muscly. With a wisp of light blond, slightly curly blonde hair flouncing into his dark brown eyes. His eyes looked as if they held a mystery in them, so dark and rich with emotion. He was wearing an orange shirt and low-slung, navy blue jeans. In other words he WAS Mr.Handsome. Finally, he extracted his eyes of the post and looked toward me. I practically died, immediately I felt my cheeks redden to a highly unusual colour. This happened to me everytime when I was em barassed, people at school even called me Beetroot , I hated that. Slowly, I saw a smile cross his face. I sucked my breath in, what was he smiling about? Certainly not me. I was just a girl, probably a good few years younger than him anyway. He must have been about fifteen. I had long, wavy carrot-coloured hair (how ugly is that?) and freckles sprinkled all over my skin. He unclenched his clasped hand and gave me a little wave ... (Mandy, Age 8 to 12, 4/9/2006 2:18:48 AM, TheLongWait) (1) I was so scaried about it!I still don't know what he is smiling about.I wanted to ask him "Are you smiling at me?!" You know,Mr.Handsome is looking at Ms.Ugly! He is certainly smiling at me! (c1ndy, Age 13 to 18, 12/6/2007 12:15:35 PM, TheLongWait) (2) Or maybe not. I glanced behind, but saw nobody. Did he know me? I felt his eyes still on me. Beetroot just got redder. Maybe I should go up to him. I walked slowly up to him. "Hello,"he said in a such a voice that I almost melted, right there. "H-hi,"I sqeauked out weakly. Whoops, too mousy. "Hi,"I said in a stronger voice. He laughed. My knees buckled at his tinkling laugh. "I'm Max," he said politely. "I'm...Mandy,"I said. "Nice name, almost as good as how you look!" He grinned and winked at me. I'm telling, I could've swooned in his arms. I'M IN LOVE!! (UnNown, Age 8 to 12, 12/6/2007 12:16:11 PM, TheLongWait) (3) All of a sudden a girl from behind the seats shouted:he is lying,he is only saying that because he feels sorry for an ugly helpless girl like you!Tears filled my eyes.I don't think that I think she's the most cutest girl I've ever seen!I knew right then that he really did like me! (Alanah, Young Adult, 12/6/2007 12:14:51 PM, TheLongWait) (4) Mr.Handsome told the girl, "Look, Elizbeth, we broke up 3 months ago, you must be over it now! You must be really desparate!" We both laughed reluctanlty. I think he really did like me! "This girl here, least when I met her she didn't suddenly give me a snog the minute she saw me!" We laughed again. The girl said "Yeah, well at least, I don't look like a beetroot!" Then I got mad. "Look, Elizbeth, you're just jealous, becasue you're 'beloved' boyfriend, don't love you. Give it a rest you mad cow!" (Ashley sge 13, Age 13 to 18, 8/3/2008 1:28:29 PM, TheLongWait) (5) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
