(0) Elisans, the hated race. That's what they were weren't they? Elm smiled sadly, eyes closed, fingers entwined around a blade of dew-soaked grass. Half elf to some, half human to others her kind was accepted by no one. This was life however and must be accepted. (Shade, Age 13 to 18, 9/24/2002 11:55:31 PM, Hidden)

(1) Why did it always have to be so hard to live? Why couldn't she just be excepted? Life!? This wasn't life and it wasn't even her fault. It wasn't her fault her dad was human well her mom was elf. (Air, Age 8 to 12, 9/27/2002 6:01:08 PM, Hidden)

(2) Elm laughed softly. Hadn't she come to terms with her race a long time ago? Perhaps. Perhaps never. Oh well. Just deal with it, she told herself, grabbing the loose reins of her horse. She stood up slowly and wiped off the back of her damp, grass-stained britches. "C'mon Bacarra," she said patting the horse on his arched neck. (Delani, Age 13 to 18, 9/29/2002 3:50:48 PM, Hidden)

(3) Elm led Bacarra over the hills. She hadn't been this unhappy with life in a long time. It wasn't hard to stay happy when it was just her, her parents, and Bacarra. But then her mother had died, and they were forced to leave their home in the living wood. The rules had stated that no household could exist without at least one full-blood elf. So, after ten years of life in the forest, Elm was about to expirience the human world for the first time. (Nathaniel, Adult, 12/13/2002 1:50:56 PM, Hidden)

(4) Bacarra slowed by habit as they came to the grassy top of the last hill. This hill overlooed her former home. She smiled, remembering the almost happy days of her youth. Elm shook her hair over the sides of her face despraley trying to disgise her herritage. (Shade, Age 13 to 18, 1/1/2003 2:06:02 PM, Hidden)

(5) It wasn;t as if you could tell what she was by what people usually associated with being an elf.No pointed ears,no shimering skin,no legs that streached toward heaven, and(the one that really made her smile)no tinkerbell laughter and new blooms wherever she walked. But there was something.Maybe it was the stormy gray eyes that shifted and moved with her emotions, and seemed to flash like lightnig whenever she was in a temper.Maybe becouse she was such a small thing but seemed to be bigger than life.Or just maybe beacouse she just seemed not of this world,an aura of secrets kept and untold,of hidden doors closed shut and locked,so that she sometimes seemed unreachable even to the gods themselves. But either way people seemed,if not to know then at least to expect. She twisted her raven dark curls around her finger nervously,in hopes that the man would go away.He looked at her for a minute, and completly without warnig she felt a sharp surge of anger at this man:how dare he,:she thought savagly,:dare to come within looking distance of my kind. This human knows not what he does,:she smiled wickedly to her self to consumed in an anger so great it was violent,to wonder where these thoughts came from:but it is now to late for now not even god can save him, from me:She turned to him, what her intintion was she knew not what. But he spoke she stopped dead."Well what do you know, boss was right. He said your kind had feirce tempers for'those who would do thier birthright harm'"he said quoting, apparently, his boss. She had a sudden vision of fire and screams before she blacked out. (8) At first Elm was startled, she looked around trying to work out where she was. The room she was in contained a large bed which she currently occupied, a heavy wooden door with no apparent lock, a jug of water and a washstand. The simple necessities for when she woke up for the first time, which she guessed was right now. She didn't recognize the room, or the voices she could hear faintly through the door. (~Rhiann, Age 13 to 18, 11/28/2003 8:38:20 AM, Hidden)

(9) She quietly stepped onto the rug beneath her bed and walked towards the door, sliding a small dagger into her cloak that she had rapidly pulled on. Elm pressed her ears against the door, straining to hear what was going on outside of her chamber. Suddenly the door was thrown open and she landed at the feet of a rather tall human in the corridor.
